FRIDAY, 22 APRIL
Chiefs 51-27 Waratahs – AS IT HAPPENED
The Chiefs weathered a strong mid-game rally by the Waratahs to emerge comfortable victors.
In a first for the competition, all 12 teams have converged on Melbourne’s AAMI Park for a three-day festival of rugby this weekend.
The match between the Chiefs and the Waratahs got things under way, and if it’s a sign of things to come, the Aussie sides are in for some stiff competition from their New Zealand counterparts.
The Waratahs came into the game in good form having won four of their last Super Rugby games and their last two in a row.
Despite that, their record against New Zealand teams is woeful and stretches to 11 games after this defeat against the Chiefs.
