Zara has recently spoken out that she wishes her children would partake in one sport in particular – and it’s not rugby or horse racing.

As a guest on IMG Golf’s Opinion Matters Podcast, Zara revealed that it would be great if Mia, Lena and Lucas all “knew how to swing a club”.

Despite being a professional on the rugby pitch, Zara’s husband is a keen golfer and she said it would be nice if the family could play the sport together.

She added: “It would be great if they all knew how to swing a club and you can do it together.

“Because, you know, that’s what you kind of live for isn’t it.

“Making those moments together, being able to do them together is so much easier as well.”

Zara added: “We can all be interested in the same things, that’s incredible.”

She suggested that her trio could soon be overtaking their parents on the golf course – if they were to take up the sport.

Despite this, Zara is not a newbie to golf and participated in the Slingsby Golf Academy 2022. This was alongside the likes of Sky Sports journalist Anna Woolhouse and Dr Zoe Williams.

In 2012, sporty Zara competed in the London-based Olympic Games as part of Team GB’s equestrian eventing team. She won a silver medal in the team event.

The 41-year-old had missed out on Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 following injuries to her horse.
