Welsh rugby gets seven-figure cash injection as new jersey sponsor announced

The Welsh Rugby Union has secured a significant injection of cash after it signed a multi-year shirt sponsorship deal with Go.Compare.

Insurance company Go.Compare will have its logo on the back of all the WRU’s senior international and pathway teams in both the men’s and women’s game with immediate effect. The comparison site becomes the first company in history to take on a back-of-shirt sponsor position for Wales’ senior men’s or women’s team with the new seven-figure deal.

Go.Compare will debut its logo when Warren Gatland’s Wales side take on England in a Rugby World Cup warm-up in Cardiff on August 5, while Ioan Cunningham’s Wales Women team will don it when they head to World Rugby’s inaugural WXV competition in New Zealand in October. The same kit design will be adopted by the WRU’s pathway teams, too.

The new-look kit will be revealed and available to buy on July 27.
