That’s a wrap
Thanks for joining us today.
Another day, another tough Wallabies defeat to take.
Michael Cheika will be thrilled at that. Eddie Jones … not so much.
Iain Payten’s match report is live (in the post below) and I’ll be filing some player ratings as soon as possible.
We’ll be back in a fortnight for the opening Bledisloe Cup Test in Melbourne at the MCG.
Take care. Cheers!

Readers react to Wallabies loss
My inbox is running hot at the moment.

Here are a handful of emails:
“No one was any good really. In this “professional” era we’d be better off with a team of enthusiastic amateurs chosen from the Shute and Hospital Cup etc competitions. At least they’d be playing for the jersey and would return the trust by playing with their hearts. And they would almost certainly make fewer mistakes!”
“The team look completely bereft of ideas, cohesion and belief. And where’s the real Nic White gone?”
“Ill-discipline cost the Wallabies. If we had a smart captain when we got the lead with four minutes left on the clock, we should have had the brains and discipline to win that game. Lack of leadership is costing us big time.”
“All had a shocker, no one shone, just like Australia A. Eddie has a huge problem.”
Sums up the mood.

‘It’s a bad loss’: Jones makes no excuses after another Wallabies defeat
Eddie Jones has just spoken on Stan Sport.
It’s the first time the Wallabies have suffered back-to-back defeats to Argentina.
Meanwhile, that’s another shocker in Sydney. The Wallabies have won just one of their last 12 Tests in the Harbour city since 2016.
“We feel the weight of the loss mate. It’s a bad loss,” Jones said. “That’s not a game we should have lost. We’ve only got ourselves to blame.
“It’s more than discipline. A lot of it is about our decision-making around the ball. We gave the ball far too many times back to them.
“We’ve got to accept there will be a little bit of pain. It’s more about how we can get the team better decision makers around the ball.

Match report: Woeful Wallabies snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
By Iain Payten
A night of woeful discipline saw the Wallabies snatch defeat from the jaws of victory against Argentina at Parramatta Stadium, and continue their horror start to the Rugby Championship under returned coach Eddie Jones.
The Michael Cheika-coached Pumas scored in the final minute to claim the win after the Wallabies had appeared to get out of jail with two tries in the last ten minutes.
After playing poorly for the majority of the game, the Wallabies trailed 27-17 with 12 minutes to go but tries to Samu Kerevi and Mark Nawaqanitawase – the latter coming via a 95-metre intercept – saw the Wallabies surge back and lead with four minutes remaining.
But as they’d done all night, the Wallabies conceded a penalty through an off-ball tackle by Kerevi, and the Pumas had one final crack at Australia’s line. No.8 Juan Martin Gonzalez dived over the pack to score, and despite pleas by the Wallabies for a held-up ruling, referee Jaco Peyp
