George Ford boots 14-man England to win over Argentina at Rugby World Cup after early red card

George Ford’s virtuoso goalkicking gave 14-man England a 27-1src win over Argentina despite playing 76 minutes with 14 men in Marseille.

England were left reeling with an early red card to flanker Tom Curry after his fourth-minute sinbinng was upgraded by Bunker officials.

But Ford – deputising at flyhalf for suspended England captain Owen Farrell – coolly kicked England to victory.

The Sale clubman slotted five penalties and three dropped goals – all after Curry’s banishment.

England led 12-3 at halftime after a Ford penalty and three field goals.

He was on target again with five more penalties in the second spell.
