Springboks vs All Blacks: 6 RWC legends who’ve died [photos]

Rugby’s biggest rivals – the Springboks and All Blacks – will face off in the World Cup final on Saturday, 28 October.

But while they may be foes on the field, many of the South African and New Zealand players actually have a mutual respect for each other.

And when a player passes, it comes as no surprise that the entire rugby fraternity mourns its loss.

Do you remember these late legends who made waves at previous World Cups?

Sadly, many Springbok players from South Africa’s historic 1995 Rugby World Cup win have since died.

They include:

Chester Williams

Chester was one of the shining stars of the ‘95 Rugby World Cup.

Sadly, the 49-year-old died of a heart attack in 2src19.

Like Williams, Small – who helped score crucial penalties in 1995 – died of a sudden heart attack.
