Ben Youngs has described Owen Farrell as the “best captain” he played under since he made his England debut in 2010. Farrell announced he was taking a break from the international game to focus on his and his family’s mental health after being booed by his own fans at the Rugby World Cup. Youngs, England’s most-capped player, said Farrell “should be treasured” while he’s still playing.

Ben Youngs has hit out at the treatment Owen Farrell received from England fans during the Rugby World Cup in France.
The 32-year-old hit the headlines before the tournament after a high tackle on Wales’ Taine Basham in a warm-up game earned him a red card that was subsequently downgraded to a yellow by an independent review panel.
World Rugby appealed that verdict and the sending off was reinstated, meaning Farrell missed England’s first two group games.
