Rees-Zammit took part in the NFL international player pathway (IPP) last week as he looks to achieve his dream of playing in the NFL.

The former Wales winger has already spoken with New York Jets and Cleveland Browns, and is scheduled to speak to the Denver Broncos next week.

And talks will also take place with the Chiefs as he looks to find himself an NFL franchise before the start of the 2024 season.

Rees-Zammit made headlines earlier this year when he quit rugby on the eve of the Six Nations to pursue a career in American football, travelling over to the country to put himself through the paces.

He enrolled on the IPP, a ten-week crash course that teaches prospects the necessary skills to succeed in the NFL.

In front of scouts from all 32 NFL teams, Rees-Zammit showcased his skills at University of South Florida’s Pro Day this month.

The Welshman, who scored 14 tries in 32 caps for the Dragons, is looking to be selected for a team’s summer training camp ahead of the new season, which will start in September.

A move to Super Bowl winners Chiefs would be an incredible rise for Rees-Zammit.

Rees-Zammit was put through his paces during NFL Pro Day, which includes a 40-yard sprint, bench press and vertical jump.

The 23-year-old was not the only athlete taking place – and not even the only former rugby star – with ex-Northampton Saints centre Harry Mallinder also taking part.

There were 14 others who enrolled including Englishmen George Smith, Travis Clayton and Scottish sprinter Praise Olatoke.

Wales, meanwhile, had a miserable Six Nations tournament as they finished dead last having lost all five of their matches.
