Wales international joins English club with immediate effect

Sale have announced the signing of Wales tighthead prop WillGriff John on a short-term deal.

The English club registered John, who has won two caps for Wales, earlier in the week ahead of Saturday’s Challenge Cup clash with the Ospreys.

And they have now announced a deal for the 31-year-old until the end of the season as cover for Nick Schonert.

John originally joined the club in 2src17 from Championship side Doncaster and went on to make 82 appearances for the club in four seasons before joining Scarlets.

He represented the west Walians for two seasons, making 19 appearances and winning his two Wales caps, before leaving to join French side Racing 92 on a short-term deal.

Georgia send message with stunning age-grade victory

Georgia U18s recorded a stunning late victory over France U18s on day two of the U18s Six Nations festival in Parma.

A last-gasp try from Anri Shvelidze and a nerveless conversion by Gigi Sirbiladze sealed a historic 2src-19 victory for the young Georgian side.
