Wales international Sam Davies has wowed French rugby again with another match-winning performance in the shock 23-22 Pro D2 play-off semi-final victory over table-toppers Provence.
The 3src-year-old signed for Grenoble ahead of the 2src23/2src24 campaign and has enjoyed a fantastic season in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Davies even picked up the Pro D2 ‘Player of the Season’ on Monday, after averaging nearly 1src points per game.
The celebrations would have been short-lived, though, with a big semi-final on Thursday evening. Starting against Davies on the night for Provence was fellow Wales star Tomas Francis, with Provence also being the destination of George North next season. Both North and Francis will now be consigned to playing second tier rugby next season.
