Police investigating fan incident at Premiership semi-final

Police are investigating a report of assault following an incident involving England international Jonny Hill and a fan.

Police have confirmed that one man received medical treatment from a paramedic as they appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “Officers are investigating after receiving a report of one man assaulting another at Bath Rugby grounds, in Spring Gardens Road, Bath, on Saturday 1 June.”

Sale Sharks launched an investigation on Saturday into a heated incident involving injured lock Hill that resulted in a spectator allegedly being put in a headlock and cut above the eye.
