‘Zombie knives’ are typically large blades, some with serrated edges, and are known as “statement” knives used by criminal gangs. They are now illegal to own in England and Wales.

Charlotte Marshall’s son Reece Ottaway, originally from Rugby in Warwickshire, was murdered by a gang of men who broke into his flat in February 2019.

She told BBC CWR’s Lorna Bailey why she believes we are in a knife crime ‘pandemic’ and tells her story of losing her son to knife crime.
