Live updates: All Blacks vs Wallabies
Just nowSat 28 Sep 2024 at 7:40am
32′ Harry Wilson earns the turnover!
What a shot from Harry Wilson!
He has dislodged the ball from his opposite number Ardie Savea.
This intent from the Wallabies has been driven by Harry Wilson, pushing forward with his fellow backrow forwards Fraser McReight and Rob Valetini.
A very impressive stint so far.

29′ Kept in by Pietsch!
What a peach from Dylan!
He’s done incredibly well to keep that ball in play!
The Wallabies are really not letting this misfiring All Black side settle at all.

29′ All Blacks penalty
Interesting.
The All Blacks get the decision for a no arms tackle from Taniela Tupou.
But then Barrett’s chip and chase while under advantage ends with him walloping Len Ikitau in the chops.
The first act of foul play gets penalised through, so it’s the All Blacks that kick for touch.

27′ All Blacks penalty
Good stuff from the All Blacks.
They have managed to put the breaks on this Wallaby attack – containing those deep running lines that were causing them problems in the opening 10 minutes.
Taniela Tupou is bundled into touch and, from the lineout and maul, gives away a penalty for hauling it down as the All Blacks rumbled slowly foward.
The kick to touch is good – but the Wallabies steal the ball from the lineout! Lovely steal from Frost!

22′ All Blacks have another!
That was far too easy.
Just a simple step off the left foot from Will Jordan takes both Reds backrowers out of the game.
Fraser McReight should have done better, but had over committed towards the right wing and got dumped with the little shimmy.
Has to do better.
The kick is good and the Wallabies trail for the first time, 12-10.

21′ Penalty All Blacks
Good work from the All Blacks.
Tyrel Lomax got over Harry Wilson, who was isolated after an otherwise excellent run.
The All Blacks kick deep.

19′ Caleb Clarke penalised for tackling in the air
Clarke showed some insane pace to even get to that ball from a flat kick off by Barrett, but then the young winger grabbed him in the air.
Clarke argues his case, which you don’t like to see, but the referee was spot on there.

18′ Wallabies penalty!
Very good from Taniela Tupou!
He got himself over the ball and knee injury or not, he gets his enormous bulk over the ball and creates an immovable object over the ball that the All Blacks simply cannot dislodge.
Lolesio nails the kick from 25 metres out and the Wallabies lead 10-5.

16′ Try All Blacks!
That is a staggeringly good pass from Anton Lienert-Brown.
It all came from a turnover on one side of the field, followed by a lovely break by Wallace Sititi as the All Blacks attack the right side from inside their own half.
It’s all taken place at serious pace, a lofted ball to the right wing hits Sevu Reece in stride and he dives over in the corner.

The kick from Barrett is wide, it’s 7-5 to the Wallabies.

14′ Penalty for the Wallabies!
Brilliant from Fraser McReight!
The All Blacks finally get some ball – they’ve only had 10 per cent so far in the match – and they move the ball right and then left.
Pietsch slammed Reece one side, then Tom Wright does very well on the other wing after Caleb Clarke breaks through.

The Wallabies will be able to clear their lines.
But there will be warning signs over the ease at which the All Blacks cut through the line there.

12′ Wallabies penalty
Dylan Pietsch gets his first touch on the side of the field and looks for contact in a big way – and wins the contact against Sevu Reece too.
The All Blacks stick some hands in the ruck and it’s a Wallabies penalty.

Brilliant start
Hello Simon, I’ve got a good feeling about this match – Go Wallabies!
– Mike
Long way to go, but this is very enterprising for the Wallabies.

11′ Wallabies with more intent!
The Wallabies spin the ball after gathering the kick off, deep inside their own half and they’re off again!
This time it’s Len Ikitau who is on the charge!
Oh but there’s a knock on!
The Wallabies are moving the ball so well and showing such intent early on.

8′ Wallabies score first!
Brilliant from the Wallabies!
Such wonderful intent – they won every collision in tight there, beating the All Blacks back at the breakdown and Fraser McReight is there to barge over.
Noah Lolesio is good with the kick and the Wallabies lead 7-0!

7′ Wallabies penalty
More pressure. More good attacking intent from the Wallabies.
This one is only five metres out and Matt Faessler is going to tap and go!

6′ Lovely phases from the Wallabies
This is great intensity from the Wallabies.
Right from the moment Harry Wilson took the ball into contact at pace from the drop out, the Wallabies were on the front foot at the ruck.
Jake Gordon was getting plenty of fast ball and they earn the penalty 20 metres out.
They won’t take the points – they want to capitalise on the early pressure with a lineout.

3′ The Wallabies drop one over the line!
Oh my goodness!
(Getty Images)
The Wallabies had the scrum, they won the ball at the second time of asking, a lovely reverse move from Jake Gordon back to Andrew Kellaway on the reverse, who scarpered down the short side and then kicked ahead.
A bundle of All Blacks came back to cover but could not, Gordon only had to fall on the ball, but he tried to pick it up and dropped it!
Goalline drop out for the All Blacks.

2′ Taniela Tupou is down
That’s a knee for Taniela Tupou.
Oh no.
(Getty Images)
A big charge from the monstrous prop into contact and he has not got up.
He got twisted by Scott Barrett in the tackle.
Tupou is up, swearing loudly as his knee is strapped. He’s going to see if he can carry on – even though he can barely walk.
He’s got a tester first up too – it’s a scrum.

1′ Kick off in the cake tin
It’s the Wallabies who kick off from right to left, Noah Lolesio kicking deep to the All Blacks, who secure ball and kick it straight back.
