AN ANTIQUES Roadshow expert is coming to Rugby to give a talk based on his BBC documentary film Treasures of Chinese Porcelain.
Lars Tharp will deliver his witty illustrated talk The Gate of Heroes: The Story of Chinese Porcelain at the Benn Hall at 7.30pm on Thursday October 23.
The former Sotheby’s director and auctioneer will tell the story of how, each year in the 1600s and 1700s, millions of Chinese dinner sets, vases and ornamental wares were shipped and carried through the hazardous mountains and through the ‘Gate of Heroes’.
The talk is hosted by The Rugby Art Society charity. All are welcome.
