FOOTBALL - Rugby Borough sign Valley legend David Kolodynski after Town exit

RUGBY Borough have confirmed the signing of striker David Kolodynski following his shock exit from local rivals Rugby Town.

Valley’s record goalscorer and appearance holder Kolodynski had his contract terminated by Town and Borough have acted quickly to snap up the striker.

Kolodynski netted a club-record 283 goals in 544 appearances across four separate spells with Valley.

However, he has swapped Town blue for Borough orange as he drops down a level to support the latter’s United Counties League Premier Division South campaign.

Kolodynski said: “It’s great to be back where it all began. Rugby Borough has always felt like home to me, and I’m looking forward to giving back to the club that gave me so much.”

The striker began his footballing journey with Borough’s junior teams and joined the club’s youth side as a 16-year-old.

His performances eventually caught the attention of Town who handed the striker his senior debut in 2006.
