JAMESTOWN – The 2024 NDHSAA Cross Country State Meet – Class B took place on Friday, October 25, at the Jamestown’s Parkhurst Campground/Pipestem Reservoir with over 50 teams in the girls run and over 60 teams in the boys run.
In the girls bracket, five of the top ten individuals were seventh graders- including the state champion, Claire Grinde from Hillsboro/Central Valley who posted an 18:50.3 mark for the win.The Hillsboro/Central Valley team took first place with a combined score of 64 with Killdeer in second with a 83 score. Bowman County was third with a team score of 88 for the course.
Rugby took fourth place with a 134 team score while Bottineau rounded out the top five with a 183 mark.
While Des Lacs-Burlington was 21st as a team, Brynn Hanson was second as an individual with a 19:22.3 mark. Her teammate Nora Anderson was 132nd at 23:32.9 while Shailee Rambough was 149th with a 23:55.1 time. Jersey Poitra rounded out the top five for the Lakers at 188th with a 25:03.8 time.
Rugby junior Hannah Senechal finished in sixth place with a time of 19:47.1 to lead the team to fourth place. Kathryn Kuntz finished in 28th with a 20:55.2 time while Keyara Lundstrom was in 30th with a 20:59.7 mark. Ashlyn Dibble took 33rd with a 21:07.2 time while Allie Monroe was 37th at 21:14.5 for the top five Lady Panthers.
The boys Rugby team was in fifth place. Brayden Green led the way at 15th with a time of 17:11.0 while Holdyn Jacobson was 25th at 17:43.2 for the race. Austin Duchscher, at 49th with a 18:27.4 was joined by Jenner Johnson at 54th with an 18:41.1 time. Maddex Kirchofner in 68th with a 19:01.1 mark rounded out the top five for the Panthers.
NDHSCA (Coaches Association) Awards – Cross Country
North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA) Awards are voted on exclusively by the state’s head coaches in each respective sport. The NDHSAA doesn’t vote on these awards so please identify them as “Coaches Association” Awards if you include them in your Tournament Coverage.
