Friends and family of 'wonderful' Rugby mum come together in face of 'devastating' diagnosis

FRIENDS and family of a ‘wonderful’ mum of five are coming together to help her after she received a ‘devastating’ diagnosis.

Hannah Woolhead, 40, has been told she has up to four years to live after she was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.

Her friends and family are raising money to help make life easier for Hannah – former owner of For Goodness Cakes and bus driver for Stagecoach Rugby.

Her brother Ash Clark and his bandmates from White Men Can’t Funk are staging a gig in December to ‘rally the people of Rugby together to help such an amazing person’.

Ash said: “This event is a heartfelt way to show Hannah that we stand by her through this challenging MND journey.

“She is a remarkable person, an incredible mother, daughter, and sister who has always shown care and compassion for others.

“Now, it’s our turn to surround her with the love and support she truly deserves.”

Friend Michelle Neale added: “We are organising the event to raise some much-needed funds towards things Hannah may need to help make her life that little bit easier – and to help make sure she can make some beautiful memories with her children before her time runs out.

“Our friend Kerri Bennett and I want Hannah and her family to know that we will do absolutely anything that is within our power to make sure she can fulfil as much in her life for as long as she has left – we will always be by her side.

“We hope this event will help raise as much money as we can – and also for Hannah to realise just how much she is loved by not just her family but the wider community, as she really is a legend in her own right.

“We also want to raise awareness of this horrendous disease, as unless it is a celebrity that is afflicted there isn’t really much coverage. There is no cure and little to no treatment for this condition.”

Vicki Jones, another of Hannah’s friends, has also organised an online GoFundMe appeal to help Hannah.

Vicki said: “Hannah is a gorgeous human being. She and her family are having to come to terms with this shocking diagnosis.

“I’m raising funds to help towards a riser recliner chair for the home, anything else she might need to help her daily living needs, or a family day out to make some precious memories.

“Please donate what you can. No amount is too small.”

The gig takes place at the Hillmorton Ex-Servicemen’s club on Saturday December 7. Visit https://tinyurl.com/cnsz6xm7 for tickets.
