Juventus’s Allianz Stadium will be used as the venue when the Italy national rugby team host the All Blacks of New Zealand in the 2024 set of Autumn internationals taking place over the next four weeks.
History at Juventus stadium when New Zealand play Italy in Rugby’s Autumn Internationals
The Italy-New Zealand rugby fixture will be the first time that the Allianz Stadium has been used for a sporting event other than football.
It is unlikely to be the last time that the Allianz Stadium is used to host rugby, either, as Juventus President Gianluca Ferrero has confirmed that the club have entered a three-year agreement with the Italian rugby federation.
“We, as Juve, are delighted to open the doors of our stadium. It will be the first time that we will host a non-football event, We’re not only a football club, but also very attentive to events in our local area,” the Juventus President said, reported via Corriere dello Sport.
“We are happy with this agreement with the Italian rugby federation. It won’t just be for this match, because it’s a three-year agreement, which gives stability for these types of events.
“We have also opened an exhibition at the Juve museum, which concerns the history of rugby. We have also received memorabilia from the New Zealand federation and it will remain open until the day of the match.”
The Italy rugby team will have three matches during the 2024 set of Autumn internationals, ending with the high-profile clash against New Zealand in Turin.
Two other Serie A grounds will be in use during November, as Italy-Argentina will be hosted at Udinese’s Stadio Friuli on November 9, while Italy-Georgia on November 15 will be played at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, regular home of Genoa and Sampdoria.
