Fellow tight head Tadhg Furlong trained yesterday and may be fit to feature against Los Pumas having missed Friday’s loss.

Uncapped Leinster forward Thomas Clarkson, who is one of five training panellists in Andy Farrell’s squad, may have to provide back-up for Bealham.

Ireland have no other injury concerns and have not called up any additional players.

Head of athletic performance Aled Walters said: “It’s natural there’s of hurt but there’s no anger.

“It’s a group that doesn’t seem to be used to losing.

“Home truths were the case, no one shied away from it.

“I’ve heard more voices this week than I had in my first two weeks.

“Everyone is intent on correcting a few things.”
