England and Harlequins full-back Ellie Kildunne has won World Rugby’s women’s player of the year award.
The superstar 25-year-old has been essential to England’s successes this year, having scored 14 tries in nine test matches for the Red Roses.
She was also named player of the championship at the 2024 Six Nations, where she helped the team to Grand Slam victory.
Ellie said she was “truly honoured” to win the prize and thanked her family, team mates, coaches and all “those who fought to be recognised as a female rugby player”.
England have been on excellent form over the last few months and are currently on a 20-match winning streak.
With the World Cup taking place next year in England, it’s no wonder Kildunne’s team are favourites to take the trophy.
