Jordie Barrett has lifted the lid on his initial few days as a Leinster player – revealing he had received the “royal” treatment in getting picked up from the airport by a club veteran.
The Kiwi star recently arrived to Ireland following the conclusion of the All Blacks’ international campaign, having agreed to a short term deal with the Blues back in April as he took advantage of an overseas sabbatical clause included in his New Zealand contract.
He popped up on water and tee duties in Leinster’s URC visit to Ulster last weekend, and a debut is expected to come during the busy festive period.

Having arrived to the capital prior to the win over Ulster, Barrett revealed he had been picked up by none other than Tadhg Furlong at Dublin Airport.
In an interview with the Leinster media channel, he said: ‘Yeah it’s great to be here, got the royal treatment, got picked up at the airport by Tadhg Furlong so it’s great to be welcomed by someone like that.
“It will be amazing to play in front of the Leinster fans.” 💙

‘It’s nice to be able to rub shoulders with a lot of boys.
‘This week the internationals are away so seen plenty of fresh faces in and around the environment.
‘It’s a special time that I’m much looking forward to.’
