A plan to move a rugby clubhouse and training pitch to make space for a development of 120 new homes in St Ives has been given the green light.

The development will consist of 50 new homes and 70 care units, all of which will be affordable.

The plan was unanimously agreed at Cornwall Council’s Strategic Planning Committee meeting on Thursday.

St Ives Town Council said the application “ticked all boxes” to help provide 120 homes in the town and secure the rugby club’s future, and described it as a “nice Christmas present”.
