A CHARITY shop in Rugby has celebrated funding more than 700 life-saving missions in the last 14 years.
The Air Ambulance store in High Street has raised nearly £1,230,500 since opening its doors in November 2010 – allowing the charity to continue providing life-saving critical care across Warwickshire and further afield.
This flagship store – the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance’s (WNAA) first ever shop – has enabled the charity to add more than 50 stores to its portfolio, in turn generating more income.
The store has received a total of 49,421 bags of donated goods in its time – but continues to require support from the community with further donations of new and pre-loved items.
Store Manager Elouise Merryweather said: “We would like to thank everyone in the community who has supported us over the past 14 years.
“Without this support we wouldn’t have been able to make more than 700 lifesaving missions possible in Warwickshire and further afield.”
“We would like to encourage everyone to continue donating pre-loved items such as bric-a-brac, clothing and toys as this helps to keep our crews flying 24-7, 365 days a year.”
WNAA’s critical care crews deliver urgent pre-hospital emergency care, improving patients’ chance of survival. The service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.
