Sports commentator Potaka Maipi says 2025 brings a new year, a new competition, and fresh talent stepping onto the Super Rugby Pacific stage.
This week marks the opening round of the competition, featuring a rematch of last year’s grand final, with defending champions the Blues facing the Chiefs this Saturday at Eden Park.
Maipi says it’s difficult to predict the outcome due to significant changes from last season, with both teams evenly matched throughout the preseason.
However, he believes the Blues will be highly motivated to build on last year’s success throughout the coming season.
The season opener kicks off tomorrow night, with the Crusaders taking on the Hurricanes in Christchurch.
