Reds and Wallabies centre Hunter Paisami will miss up to three games of Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific after his Round 2 citation was upheld.

The 26-year-old avoided on-field sanction for a tackle on Moana Pasifika centre Lalomilo Lalomilo in the 30th minute of Queensland’s 56-36 victory last Friday but was referred to the Super Rugby Pacific Foul Play Review Committee.

In a statement released today, the Foul Play Review Committee found Paisami “guilty of committing a dangerous tackle in contravention of Law 9.13”.

They say they have upheld the citing issued to Paisami and determined the mid-range entry point of six weeks/matches was appropriate.

Paisami has been given permission to apply to take part in World Rugby’s Coaching Intervention Programme as a substitute for the final match of the sanction, meaning he could potentially return for the Saturday, March 15th derby between Queensland and New South Wales.

The Reds, who are currently third in the Super Rugby Pacific points table, will face the Force at 8.35pm Saturday.

In other matches, Moana Pasifika will take on the Highlanders at 6.05pm Friday, the Waratahs will face the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua at 8.35pm Friday, the Chiefs will play the Brumbies at 3.35pm Saturday, and the Hurricanes will meet the Blues at 6.05pm Saturday.
